Barker Martin, P.S. was founded by Bo Barker over two decades ago, and from its inception, has focused on representing homeowners, business owners and associations faced with construction defects. The construction landscape looks much different today than it did 20 years ago. There have been significant changes in the law, increases in the number of large-scale developments and mass-produced homes, and an unfortunate increase in defective construction. Barker Martin has been protecting business owners, homeowners and associations through these transitions. It is our purpose and passion to help our clients deal with the complex factual and legal issues when facing construction defects in their single-family houses, condominiums, apartments, assisted living facilities or nursing homes.
When faced with construction defects or related problems, owners need experienced advice. We believe the following factors make Barker Martin uniquely qualified:
- Our attorneys are supremely committed to our clients. We understand this area of law because construction defect litigation is our passion; it’s what we do day-in and day-out. Unlike larger law firms that have many practice areas, since its inception, Barker Martin has focused exclusively on resolving construction defects claims.
- The moment you retain Barker Martin, we assign a team of professionals to handle your claim. From start to finish, you will have a minimum of three specifically designated individuals assigned to your case: a lead attorney, a co-attorney and a paralegal who will work tirelessly throughout the duration of your case. Your team will draw from the firm’s extensive resources and experience to best prepare your case. Though your project team will be your primary point of contact, the entire firm stands ready to serve your needs.
-
Filing a claim against a developer, contractor, or subcontractor can be daunting. This is not surprising because developers and contractors are well versed in negotiating construction claims, while owners and associations usually are not familiar with construction or legal issues surrounding these types of claims. Our approach is to educate our clients regarding the factual and legal issues and keep them up to date on the progress of their claim so they are able to make educated and well informed decisions. We accomplish this objective by discussing the issues at the outset, regularly attending board and homeowner association meetings to provide updates and explaining the process along the way. Our staff promptly returns emails and voicemails. The entire staff at Barker Martin is deeply committed to superior customer service and client satisfaction. We are happy to provide references and invite you to talk to any of the many clients we have represented over the years.
- Our commitment to communication and client satisfaction does not end when the claim is resolved. We realize obtaining a financial settlement or trial verdict is only half of the construction defect process. Owners still have to repair their buildings. Unlike our competitors, we help walk our clients through the new and complex issues they will face when implementing the repair process.
