Dave Merchant heads the Maui office of Barker Martin, P.S. An attorney since 1992, Dave has extensive experience in civil litigation, residential and commercial construction litigation, and condominium governance issues. Dave was a founder and the initial president of the Washington Homeowners' Coalition, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating and protecting homeowners with respect to construction defect issues and other legal concerns. He has lectured at the University of Washington School of Law and testified before the state legislature regarding condominiums and construction defects, has worked with local news agencies and community organizations to educate the public regarding construction defects, and has been a frequent CLE speaker on a variety of topics. Dave also served as an officer in the U.S. Army and Washington National Guard from 1988 to 1995. Dave is the Vice-President of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Maui. His outside interests include his family, bicycling, skiing and soccer (watching, coaching, and when not injured, playing).
