WCIOA Will Become Law This Summer - Are You Ready?

Whether any of us are truly ready or not, the Washington Common Interest Ownership Act (“WCIOA”) takes effect on July 1, 2018.  That date will be here sooner than you think.  Are you ready?

We still have a few seats left for our “What’s WCIOA” presentation, this Friday, May 11, 2018.  Please join us for the morning session from 9:00 to Noon, or the afternoon session from 1:00 – 4:00 at the Washington State Bar Offices in Downtown Seattle at 1325 4th Avenue.  Refreshments and lunch will be provided during the noon hour for both morning and afternoon attendees.  Please RSVP with your preference for morning or afternoon to to manager@barkermartin.com to reserve your seat!

For example, did you know, WCIOA requires that the unit owners must be provided with notice of the Board meeting at least 14 days before the meeting.  For associations with 100’s or even 1,000’s of units, this requirement alone could be a deal-breaker when considering opting in.

If the date and times for the May 11th presentations are not convenient for you, we plan to schedule additional seminars in different areas, perhaps the Eastside or in South King County.  If you would like to request a location, feel free to let us know at manager@barkermartin.com.
